These discomforts are usually caused by a sudden change in environment, lifestyle, time, a tight itinerary, and food, etc. Our body often cannot keep up with the change.
Besides preparing medication, you might want to try massaging acupoints to quickly relieve discomfort and pay attention to a few tips to recover faster and then enjoy the local food and scenery.
Vacation Mishap Relieve Tips:
Acupoint massage: Gently massage acupoints for 1-3 minutes
1. Headache
• Massage He Gu point (LI4): Between the base of your thumb and index finger, the depression close to the index finger
• Massage Tai Yang point (EX-HN4): 1 thumb width outwards from the midpoint between end of eye and eyebrow
2. Diarrhea
• Massage Zu San Li point (ST36): 4 fingers width below the depression of the outer patella
• Take Eu Yan Sang’s An Ji Le Capsules
• Avoid having dairy and food that are overly strong flavoured
3. Constipation
• Massage Tian Shu point (ST25): Around 2 thumbs width outwards the umbilicus
• Massage Guan Yuan point (CV4): Around 4 fingers width below the umbilicus
• Massage Zhong Wan point (CV12): Around 4 fingers width above the umbilicus
• Stay hydrated, include food with fibres into meals such as fruits and greens

4. Insomnia
• Massage Shen Men point (HT7): The depression on the wrist crease on the little finger side
• Massage An Mian point (EX-HN16): Midpoint between Yi Feng point and Feng Chi point
5. Motion Sickness/Nausea
• Massage Nei Guan point (PC6): 3 fingers width above the middle of the wrist crease
• Apply essential oil and massage on Feng Chi point (GB20): Outer side depression of the two large tendons on the neck, same level with earlobe
